Today’s Tax Functions are often challenged with obtaining financial data in a timely manner to prepare the monthly, quarterly or year-end income tax reporting requirements. The complexity in accurately migrating data from the source system to the provision software or Excel® model can add additional challenges and risk to the overall tax close cycle. What if you could eliminate the complexity and risk by truly integrating your income tax provision with your ERP and financial systems?

During this workshop, you will learn how you can accomplish this by using HTP. Unlike other tax provisioning systems, HTP is a fully integrated solution that leverages the data within the Financial Close Suite to provide accurate and timely data collection, provision calculations, and reporting requirements while at the same time mitigating risk. Demonstrations will include how data is loaded, the tax provision is calculated, journal entries are produced, and how HTP has the ability to deliver the custom reports you need to satisfy internal and external reporting requirements.

Big Data is one of the many challenges almost all organizations today face to remain competitive. Whether your company has a comprehensive, “in production” Business Intelligence and Reporting solution in place or not, the Big Data concept needs to be addressed, if for no other reason than to see if it’s a fit and/or a requirement for your user community and can help your business.

Getting started on this daunting task can be simplified by attending this workshop, the format of which has helped many organizations over the last few years begin their Big Data journey. Relevant information on finance, human resources, sales and marketing and operations will be presented.

The session begins with an overview of Oracle’s Big Data strategy, along with a simple, structured roadmap on how to get started. Next is a “hands-on” workshop format for your business users and IT professionals to actually “test drive” consuming information outside your firewall.

Participants in this workshop will:

  • Learn the components of Oracle Endeca Information Discovery (OEID), and then log in and consume information using the Oracle Endeca Studio, accessing live data useful to their particular areas of business.
  • Experience the ease and power of the Endeca user interface, and within a short amount of time be able to access, format and consume information helpful to your organization.
  • Take away a much clearer understanding of developing a Big Data Strategy while getting an “up close and personal” feel for how easy it is to harness and consume new information available to the general public.
  • Gain a deeper understanding of the Endeca technology and toolset, helping you decide if the Big Data available today by using the Endeca solution can ultimately help your organization maintain or improve your business processes and make more accurate, timely, informed business decisions.
