Business Intelligence/ BI Analytics
In today’s economy, end users need information faster than ever, and in a format customized to their level of experience. Business Intelligence system administrators need streamlined systems that support both the growing volume of data and the complex requirements of end users. This track will have sessions dedicated to best-in-class solutions using Oracle’s Business Intelligence suite of 15+ products, including OBIEE+ and the Oracle BI Applications Suite. See how developers are addressing the insatiable demand for real-time intelligence to improve overall business performance-and learn how you can achieve similar results.
The Oracle relational database continues to evolve to include more new features, and as a result, has become even more complicated. On top of all the daily challenges of maintaining a high performance database, now you have to be sure the data is available 24/7 and that it is compatible with other systems. This track is designed to provide DBAs (of every experience level and across industries) with the tools to productively and creatively administer data. Possible topics include: backup and recovery, data and database security, database performance tuning (SQL and DB), edition-based redefinition in R11gR2, grid computing/manageability and streams/replication, and presentations by Oracle's experts on new features of RDBMS R12c.
Your database is optimized and you're running the latest applications, so why are you still experiencing slowdowns and breakdowns? Chances are, it’s your middleware. Because it handles the communication between applications and operating systems, the ever-changing mix of middleware technologies might be your biggest challenge-or your greatest opportunity. Possible topics include: applications management tools, data integration, identity management, service-oriented architecture, web experience management, JVM diagnostics and monitoring, fusion middleware, cloning and WebLogic.
You can upgrade your database, your operating system, your E-Business Suite of applications, your hardware and everything else in between! This track will discuss the potential upgrade challenges of the different parts of the Oracle E-Business Suite technology stack. Topics will include both E-Business Suite Release 12.1.3 and presentations by Oracle’s experts about Release 12.2, operating system upgrades, including migrating from 32-bit to 64-bit, and database upgrades to the latest certified version, Release 11gR2. Additional topics may include: how to prepare for Release 12.2, how to prepare for Fusion, how WebLogic will work with EBS Release 12.2, the difference between WebLogic and Apache, load testing, how to change customization practices now to lay the groundwork for Release 12.2, and development tools.
